November 8, 2019  Radisson Vancouver Airport Hotel, Richmond, BC – In conjunction with the annual conference, AMBC will be hosting its first full-day workshop on how to document and assess community levels of service in small communities.  This will begin with a one-hour session on what levels of service is and why it’s important, and transition into a workshop-style how to session.  Participants will leave the workshop with levels of service completed for at least one of their service areas, a toolkit to guide and support ongoing implementation, and an expanded network of contacts from across BC who are at a similar stage in their asset management journey.

A customizable, spreadsheet-based LOS tool will be provided as part of the workshop.  This tool was developed in 2018 through a partnership with AMBC/UBCM, the Atlantic Infrastructure Management Network and the Northwest Territories Association of Communities, and has been modified to meet BC needs.

The workshop is suitable for local government staff from across departments and disciplines.  Councillors interested in rolling up their sleeves are also welcome.  While workshop material is tailored to smaller communities, it can be an excellent grounding in fundamentals for larger communities beginning to explore levels of service.  Drawing from past experiences, communities will get the most out of this workshop if 2-3 staff from across departments attend together.
