Asset Management Day & Local Government Awareness Week 2024

Celebrate your infrastructure during this year’s Local Government Awareness Week (LGAW) May 12-18th and Asset Management Day on May 15th!

Infrastructure is a significant part of local government service delivery, sadly often underappreciated or overlooked by the public. This year’s theme invites local governments to tell the infrastructure story of their community or region, and the steps that are being taken to ensure sustainable service delivery.

And here at AMBC we think that’s something to celebrate!

2024 Local Government Awareness Week Theme: Infrastructure

This year’s theme for Local Government Awareness Week 2024 is Infrastructure.

Infrastructure is the lifeblood of local government, serving as the foundation upon which communities thrive. From roads and bridges to water systems and public facilities, from natural to human assets, robust infrastructure ensures essential services are accessible and reliable for residents now and in the future.

Effective infrastructure management does more than enhance our quality of life. It also drives economic growth, fosters social cohesion, and promotes environmental sustainability.
