Work with Levels of Service

Asset Management BC’s Levels of Service training examines what Levels of Service (LOS) are, why they’re important, and how to define and work with them for your community. Using a customizable, spreadsheet-based LOS tool, (developed by leading asset management experts and customized for use in BC) you’ll get to work with your own data and information. This asset management education is available as practical, in-person workshops or as an online webinar series.

There are three Levels of Service training options to choose from:

How to Write a Long Term Financial Plan for Asset Management

From data collection, through core calculations to developing funding options and communicating findings, this hands-on course is a must for anyone involved in creating a long term sustainability plan for asset management and having to prove their case with solid calculations.

This workshop is designed for elected officials and/or senior staff interested in gaining an understanding of what asset management is, its critical importance in delivering community services and an overview on implementing asset management best practices. It can be customized to meet the specific needs of local government or First Nation.

Operationalizing Asset Management: Technical Assistance

Asset Management Training for Elected Officials

An online or in-person peer learning experience designed to help local governments and First Nations identify and overcome the barriers to asset management. This training can be delivered to an individual local government/First Nation or in a cohort settingParticipants use their organization’s data and information.

Outcomes:  

  • Identify barriers to embedding asset management in your organization’s structure and culture. 
  • Explore the effective application of asset management principles using the 4Cs approach (collaboration, capacity, culture, and council/board). 
  • A business case to present to senior management on operationalization of asset management. 

Recommended for: Chief Administrative Officers and senior administrators, with a minimum of two participants from each organization, preferably from different disciplines.
