2025 AMBC #OurAssetsMatter Award Winners
Award: Organization Service Delivery Champion
Winner: Municipal Insurance Association of BC (MIABC)
Congratulations to the Municipal Insurance Association of BC (MIABC) — recipient of the 2025 #OurAssetsMatter Award for Organization Service Delivery Champion!
As a reciprocal insurance pool owned by its members, MIABC has been a provincial and national leader in providing education, resources, and risk management tools that help local governments build resilient and thriving communities.
From their comprehensive training programs and outreach initiatives to their collaboration on AMBC’s education and risk-focused initiatives, MIABC has shown unwavering commitment to helping communities understand and manage risk — including the growing challenges of climate change.
As former CEO Tom Barnes once said, “The MIABC is the greatest example of intergovernmental cooperation that you have ever heard of.”
We’re proud to recognize MIABC for their ongoing partnership and leadership in advancing sustainable service delivery across BC, and thank you to Megan Chorlton for accepting the Award.
👏 Congratulations, and thank you for continuing to champion the asset management cause alongside AMBC!
Award: Wally Wells Award (Individual Service Delivery Champion)
Winner: Laura Hardiman
Congratulations to Laura Hardiman, recipient of the 2025 Wally Wells Award for Individual Service Delivery Champion!
Laura’s leadership at the Capital Regional District (CRD) and across the broader asset management community has been inspiring. Through her involvement with AMBC’s Strategic Planning Committee and her collaboration with peers across the province, Laura has demonstrated what true industry leadership looks like: thoughtful, generous, and grounded in collaboration.

👏 Congratulations, Laura — and thank you for everything you do to move our collective work forward!
