Celebrating the 2024 #OurAssetsMatter Awards Winners
In 2022, Asset Management BC (AMBC) introduced the Asset Management Awards to recognize outstanding contributions in sustainable service delivery. Now, in its third year, the 2024 #OurAssetsMatter Awards continue to honor the dedication and innovation of individuals and organizations across British Columbia. Here’s a look at this year’s distinguished recipients and their impactful work.

Organization Service Delivery Champion: Partnership for Water Sustainability in BC
The Partnership for Water Sustainability in BC received this award for their pioneering work in “Sustainable Service Delivery.” As the first organization to incorporate AMBC’s framework into water and watershed management, the Partnership has created a transformative approach that links land-use planning with water management. Over the past decade, they have contributed extensively to AMBC’s newsletters, shared knowledge, and championed innovative projects like “Blue Ecology,” an ecological philosophy developed by Michael Blackstock that bridges asset and water management.
Through initiatives like “Convening for Action on Vancouver Island,” which brought together five local governments to better understand the connection between land and water, the Partnership continues to lead the way. Their online resource, Waterbucket.ca, serves as a treasure trove of water-centric planning resources, promoting conservation, green infrastructure, and more. With a mission to “Develop Tools, Develop Talent, and Focus on Outcomes,” the Partnership’s impact is seen in every community it touches.

Her leadership on projects such as the Integrated Stormwater Management Plan and her continuous improvement initiatives have set a standard for sustainable service delivery. Beyond her local contributions, Kristy actively shares her expertise, contributing articles to AMBC and Waterbucket newsletters, and presenting at AMBC and Canadian Network of Asset Managers (CNAM) conferences.
Kristy has also championed community engagement and has taken the initiative to establish a regional Community of Practice for local governments around Prince George. Her dedication to promoting best practices and helping colleagues across the province positions her as a true leader in the field of asset management.
